I am an idealist and a spiritual seeker with a strong intellect, very diverse interests and a good sense of humor--dry, ironic and sometimes quirky. I love reading the comics page as well as history, religion, politics/current events and technical subjects. I enjoy intellectual challenge, socially diverse company and strategy board games like chess and go. NPR is my first choice for radio (I don't have a TV); favorite programs include Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, All Things Considered, TED Talks, This American Life and the news. I have had an interesting life because I have approached living as an adventure, a blind date, but I am good company for someone looking for a serious, long-term, trusting and honest relationship.

I am an unreconstructed son of the ’60s. I like my music close to the Earth: Folk, Blues, pre-1980s country, most acoustic in those genres, but also World Music and Electronica. See echoes.org for my taste in music that is not acoustic. I am a world citizen and enjoy encountering other cultures and learning to appreciate their music, language, art, dance and other cultural expression. I enjoy watching performances of dance--ballet, folk dance, ballroom, modern. I would enjoy learning ballroom with a patient partner. I enjoy learning languages and at different times I have been fluent in several.
